The hoof has to be cleaned, evaluated, and trimmed before a shoe can be selected or shaped. Existing wear, nail placement, hoof-wall condition, and the way the horse uses the foot all matter to the finished fit.
For a reset, the current shoes also need to be checked for wear and suitability. Reuse should be a condition-based decision, not an automatic assumption.
